Home will always be where the heart is – this could not be more true of Sharne and Braam who have been living in the land down under (Australia) for the last several years – yet, given the choice, they celebrated their wedding vibes in sunny South Africa.
I had the privilege to work with Sharne and Braam for over a year while we planned their wedding day. Modern day technology makes this so much more accessible, feasible and easy and when you are able to put your trust in reliable support, service and dedication the process is far less daunting then many think. A big thank you to Sharne and Braam for putting that level of trust in me.
With the wedding day only stretching a mere couple of hours this couple made maximum use of their time with close friends and family by making a weekend of the occasion. celebrations and happy vibes where already taking place the Friday night with a family dinner at the scrumptious Café Blanc at Brennaisance estate. Being firm food fondies and enjoying a good wine, we made the right call by having the group experience the pizza and wine pairing offered by the Estate – a good recommendation for all to try.
On closer of the weekend Sunday morning the closest friends and family headed for a legendary breakfast to continue the chirpiness and memories going.
Here follows some images of their special day.
Mint, peach and gold was the chosen colour scheme to compliment the day’s styling. The freshness, yet utterly feminine and romantic tones set the scene perfectly for the elegant wedding Sharne wished to have.
The Rose conservatory located at Brennaisance was converted into a green and floral sanctuary with soft ferns, lush garden roses and ivy cascading towards the floor in overgrown masses – one can only truly experience this level of beauty in person.
On ceremony completion guests where entertained by a live folk art band, an extended predrink run with cocktail and canapé pairing on three food stations (Local is lekker – South African braai station; Laizefairre French station and Hook, line and sinker seafood station).
Our couple also had the pleasure of serving their cheese wedding cake as part of this predrink session – a flip on the tradition of having to serve the wedding cake as a sweet alternative.
The Reception left nothing spared with a continuation of the theme, colour scheme and their spontaneous laughter.
This wedding has left me with so many memories of the joy and laughter that is shared – truly their was never a moment when I did not see these two smiling, even Braam in his quiet reserved way.
I leave you with a few more memory snaps.
“Braam and I are very happy that you came across our paths and that you were our wedding planner. You were absolutely professional all the way through, and you exceeded our expectations around every turn. You promptly responded to absolutely any and every enquiry and you always had fresh ideas and suggestions. Our wedding was absolutely more than we could have hoped for, and we could not have done it without you. I know I was difficult to deal with at times (very involved), and you accommodated me every step of the way.
I wish you and your business the absolute best, and if anyone ever looks for an event and/or wedding planner in Cape Town, I would not hesitate to recommend you! I am going to miss our weekly emails!
All the best.
Love Sharne and Braam“
